ANGELO ZONE SEA FOODS PRODUCER COMPANY (AZ Co)

Angelo Zone Sea Foods Producer Company is a fast growing startup company promoted for the fisherwomen in Tharangambadi Taluk of Mayiladuthurai district by Mother Terasa Educational Trust an NGO working for the most deprived and vulnerable communities for their livelihood and children education with the funding support of Thoughtworks India Private Limited company, Bangalore.  The production as per the SoP has been done by our trained company members (Producers) and the overall business administration has been done by our board of Directors with the cooperation of  appointed eminent office bearers of our company. 

The main business of the company is producing value added sea food from the available local fish catches with main aim to support the fisher women and their family on livelihood promotion, their children education and women empowerment.  The company established with 40 fisher women producers and given EDP training and Onsite Technical training with SoP by “Fish for All and Ever Unit” Poombuhar a unit of MS. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) to ensure the quality and healthy futures of the products.  Currently started producing dry fishes of few varies such as Anchovy, Sardine, Barracuda, Mackerel etc.  The company planned to go for many product diversions on sea foods after reaching the potential market soon. 

The product:

Generally, the product ‘dry fishes’ are assumed as food items for poor and produced out of unsold fishes.  Many doctors are warning their peasants that don’t give dry fishes to children and elders because of the high salt and microbial infections due to unhygienic production methods followed to produce 90% of dry fishes in India. 

Considering the practical facts, we are very much keen on health and hygienic matters along with green (solar) energy for sustainability.  Accordingly, we started processing dry fishes as per the SoP learned from MSSRF through established high standard solar driers with adequate equipment and standard hygienic practices.

We are focusing quality ensuring health, Safety, Nutrition and hygiene on our sea food products which can be consumed by all the category of well aware-consumers who are concentrating on nutrition value and good health benefits.  The cost may be slightly high due to optimized quality process but it reduces the health risk, nutrition deficiency, unbearable medical expenses and at the same time ensuring delicious food quality. 

We expect rational customers and distributer/wholesalers/retailers on joint business actions and mutual business benefit.
